I can't believe some people are advocating resting some players tomorrow, we're not Man City, we need our strongest side possible.

Re: WHU team Vs Cardiff City?
If Antonio has to go right back then we need to play 3cbs for this.

Drop Rice to one of the back 3.

I could see maybe even Carroll getting a start and Arnie rested.

Re: WHU team Vs Cardiff City?
This is tricky. Cardiff are a shit side no doubt but exactly the sort of side we slip up against. They'll work harder than us, be physical, use cynical tactics. We generally fall for all these ploys.
Trickier still are the full back options, we don't really have any but three CBs at home to fucking Cardiff seems unnecessarily negative but Antonio and Masuaku in a back four is asking for trouble. I'd have dropped Eddy Fernandes in at RB had he not been off on loan. I'd consider Obiang at RB before Antonio in a four. Reluctantly I'd go:

—-------------------------------Fabs
----------Rice-----------Diop--------------Ogbonna
Antonio—-------------------—--------------------Masuaku
---------------------Noble----------Obiang
Snodgrass-------------------------------------------Anderson
---—-------------------Arnautovic

Horrible side, I'd be tempted to shoehorn in Hernandez but can't find a place for him with our usual injury woes. Assuming Zabaleta, Cresswell and Balbuena wont be playing.

Fans on their websites seem very confident in beating "A meaningless little club from London". I thought they were playing us not Palace!

What’s happening with arnautovic, he seems to be missing a few chances, I’ve got him to be top scorer.....

It would be good to give Johnson a chance at right back. The last time we did that it didn’t work out too bad.

A 2 - 0 win will take us above Wolves and Brighton

Any win would take us above Brighton, as we would need them to lose, as they play on Tuesday as well.

As we've not won two league games on the spin, for nearly two years (January 2017), it won't be happening on Tuesday.

A 2 - 0 win will take us above Wolves and Brighton but below Watford and Bournemouth

Re: WHU team Vs Cardiff City?
This would be the game to rest defenders, unless Hoilett scores another wonder goal they are pretty toothless.

That said it looks like we might not have a choice with Creswell and Balbuena. So is changing three players in the back four a great idea?

I guess we could go Antonio and Masuaku and essentially let Rice drift back in a three. (Just don't tell the manager).

Not sure Carroll is ready to start but early sub for Arnautovic for sure. And Wilshire for Noble if they think he is ready.

The idea of Antonio at rightback is alarming, but on the bright side, at least he won't be playing striker.

Fabianski
Antonio Balbuena Diop Masuaku
Diangara Rice Noble Anderson
Carrol
Hernandez

Snodgrass, Zabaletta & Arnie to come back in for Palace - Arnie particularly looks like he could use a rest.

I understand it’s probably unlikely that Carrol will start, I would’ve given him half an hour yesterday personally.

Re: WHU team Vs Cardiff City?
Lots of unknowns for this one - four changes to the starting line-up yesterday so Pelle is clearly happy to rotate the squad. Biggest question marks are both full-back positions - I would be surprised if Zab isn't rested so probably Antonio to come in for him. Don't know how bad Cresswell's injury was but hopefully Masuaku can cope better against Cardiff than he did against City.

I also wonder if Balbuena might have picked up a knock yesterday - noticed him grimacing a few times and he didn't go up for corners. Hope he's OK because this CB pairing is outstanding.

In midfield we've got options now that Wilshire is back - he should get some time in this game but probably not quite ready to start.

Likewise up front, Carroll gives us another option and I would like to see how he works with Hernandez.
